Mikel Mabasa is a Transport Economist and the CEO of naamsa, the Automotive Business Council of South Africa. He is also a Council Member of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and a Non-Executive Director of several organizations, such as the Energy Council of South Africa, Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), and the Automotive Industry Exports Council (AIEC). He has a wealth of experience in the aviation, alcohol, tobacco, and mining industries, as well as in government policy formulation.
